Summer Swimtensive

One-week sessions include daily 60-minute classes for new swimmers to increase water comfort and build towards independent swimming. Our experienced instructors focus on fostering independence in the water, teaching children to submerge, float, roll from their stomachs to their backs, and swim safely over short distances. For more advanced swimmers, we focus on skills such as independently entering the water and swimming across the pool without assistance. With a maximum instructor-to-child ratio of 4:1, each session balances structured instruction with engaging water play. Children are assessed and placed into ability-based groups on Mondays, maintaining those groups throughout the week.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Summer Swimtensive program is designed for swimmers of all abilities. Keep in mind that this is a separation class without parent or caregiver participation. Some 2.5-year-olds are ready to be in the water in a group lesson, while others feel more comfortable with a parent or caregiver. If your child would feel more comfortable in a parent/caregiver environment, we suggest signing up for one of our Starfish swim classes.
